(Less than) Ten Things of Thankful: week 49-50/2013

Dear all,

This will be a very short post because I am tired and exhausted and initially decided to skip this week's TToT, even more so because I have not even made my round on last week's posts yet. But then I was informed that the next TToT would be on January 4, 2014 and so I decided to make a short list with less than ten things.

My Christmas cards are also waiting for me. So without further ado, here is what I came up with spontaneously:

1) Thankful for this week's support plan conversation with Sunny's teacher.

2) Thankful for the beautiful nativity play this week where Sunny was the sweetest lamb in the history of mankind.

3) Thankful that Sunny is finally not sick anymore. Let's see how long it will last.

4) Thankful that this week is coming to a close. It was filled with many appointments, things on my to do list, stuff to handle, things to organise etc. Blogging has been way on the back burner because I was busy like crazy.

5) Thankful for each and every one of you who will be part of my teeny tiny blog hop at the end of the year. Since there will be no TToT you might still enjoy to come and join the fun. Would love to see you!

So, this has to be sufficient for tonight. Have a blast at the last TToT of the year!

Love,

  1. Good for you making a short list! I am right there with you - too much stuff to do and still haven't read LAST week's TToT lists. Boo hoo. I'm coming to your teeny tiny blog hop! (Just have to not forget to do it!)

    1. Thanks for your comment, Lisa! It makes me feel less inadequate xo

    2. Zed. Oh. Em. Gee!

You guys...NO ONE is inadequate. And I truly, truly hope that you don't use this blog hop as any kind of excuse to beat yourself up, Joy. Your participation, at whatever level you can manage it (because Real Life Happens, and you're prioritising it, and that's RIGHT and IMPORTANT) is valued and wonderful. And I'm glad you're a part of this.

      'kay?

  2. So glad you decided to post something! I am hopeful to become a regular when you all start up again next year! I think this hop has given me the most support when I joined in the past and I've gotten to read so many new blogs from it which I love! It sounds like this week was really busy so I'm glad this week is over for you as well. Enjoy your holiday and your family! :)

    1. Thanks for taking the time to comment, Brittnei! So happy to see you around!

This blog hop really is awesome because we sometimes need a shift in perspective, especially when we had a lousy week, and this blog hop helps so much!

Have a wonderful holiday season, too! :-)

  3. joy it seems that you and Lisa feel like you need some sort of Absolution for having a busy life. No need. Right now I'm spinning around clicking my heels 3 times and doing the special absolution dance for both of you so that the guilt ....I should say the needless guilt ....of missing a few blogs will now be wiped entirely from your mind. I am definitely going to try and do your hop because it's really interesting but I have to confess it scares me a little bit cause I don't know the answer to a lot of those questions so I'm glad you posted them early enough to give me some time. Enjoy your holiday I'm so glad sunny feels better. Happy new year and see you at the hop!

    1. Zoe, I am completely in love with you for this comment! I know I do not need to feel guilty but I still do so thank you SO MUCH for telling me it's okay! xoxo

Also: I am so happy you will participate in the hop. Just skip the questions you do not know how to answer. I have to say that my post (which I have been working on for the last weeks every time something came to my mind) is still missing some answers so far, too!

Thank you for all the nice wishes! Wishing you the same, too!

    1. Thank you so much Janine! There are still some cards I have to write but I took tonight off because I just don't feel like writing any cards now.

  5. I am very glad that you decided to make your short list. I think most of us can understand the hectic life schedule! I know I can! I didn't even send out Christmas cards this year, that's how far behind I am. I printed the list of questions and penciled your anniversary in my calendar so I will see you on the 27th! Have a Merry Christmas!

    1. Thank you Sandy! It is weird how this time of the year is always so full of stress and things that need to be done.

I love that you penciled your calendar! You rock! xo

      Merry Christmas to you, too!

    2. I just wanted to comment on your post but I cannot find the button or anything to fill in? How can I comment?

    3. Now the comment section works but I saw that I need to sign up with Discus (which I do not want to for various reasons, maybe you could also allow comments as a guest?) so I will comment on your blog post here:

I am glad that there was no misuse of your credit card! Wow, you were really lucky!

Your reading habits are the same as mine. I try to do it as often as possible and so I always take my book with me when wait during Sunny's speech therapie and some minutes before I switch off the lights in bed.

I envy you for the possibility of homeschooling. We do not have that choice and while it would not be the right thing for my son I think it is great to have the choice. Hope you will make the right decision.

Congrats on the award! What a cool idea of Lizzy to invent her own award! Kudos to you!

  7. This time of year is just so overwhelming. I was actually relieved to see that we would be taking a fortnight break since I knew I would not have time to participate, and I hate the idea of missing out. Congrats on that support plan! I know how important and anxiety-producing that stuff is.

  8. Your short list is beautiful and REAL and I'm glad it's here. I'm glad Sunny was well, and such an adorable lamb in the play.

Looking forward to your End Of The Year Special Hop :)

  9. Glad that Sunny is well again. Sick kiddos is always the worst! I bet he was the most adorable lamb in this world!! Enjoy your weekend, Joy, and have some wine while writing these cards :-)

  10. Sounds like lots of positives for Sunny this week, which always translates to positives for Mom. I'm glad for both of you.
One of the great things about this blog hop is that we are all starting to get to know each other pretty well. That right there should help take the pressure off, since you know not a single person in this link-up is upset with you for not "making the rounds". We all know busyness happens, and there's nothing to be done but prioritize. You're prioritizing correctly, and we completely understand. Relax and have as much fun as you can through all of the "must do" things on the list.
With my own busyness and hiatus, I missed your post about your blogiversary. Congratulations! Your end-of-year hop sounds wonderful. I'll get started on my answers this week!

  11. It is a busy time of year; I think it is fine that your list is short this week. Ten is such an arbitrary (yet alliterative to this hop) number! :-)

  12. Now, Sunny has the make for acting. :D Great job on the nativity play and a very merry xmas to you, Joy!! We'll be catching up on the TTOT in Jan!

  13. Love that you got a short list in and that Sunny is feeling better. As for your blog hop - I have even draft posted with the link so I can remember to do it. How's THAT for (sort of) commitment?

And as for blogging when life is busy - cut yourself some slack. I figure life comes first. Some week's I blog lots. Other weeks I feel good if I get two posts up (like this week. Honestly, that's most weeks). And some week's I miss altogether. But somehow the world still turns :) - Best Louise.
